With fall around the corner, it’s time to circle back around to one of our favorite outfits: white shirts, blue jeans. You can take a hint from former Vogue France editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt and go with a boyfriend-inspired pair of jeans. You can stick with this season’s hottest silhouette, the bootcut. When it comes to your shirt, you can switch between linen, poplin, or an Oxford depending on the weather.
Let’s start with the white shirt. It’s the backbone of every stylish woman’s wardrobe, and I truly believe you can never have too many. The Lui shirt by Frankie Shop is slightly oversized, and I love the longer tail for added structure. The Anine Bing Mika shirt also has the high/low design detail.
Mango’s oversized shirt is a similar look for less. You’re going to think I’m crazy, but the Amazon Essentials shirt is really, really good. This Banana Republic oversized poplin shirt has slits at the side, so you can easily tuck and style the shirt. Everlane’s Relaxed Oxford is the same fabric and cut as their men’s, and I’ll be wearing it a lot when the temperature drops.
Ok, time to get into the denim. The straight-leg, vintage-inspired silhouette is still going extremely strong. I love Raey’s high-leg, slightly cropped Find jean. The J.Crew mid-rise 90s classic jean is another take on the cut. If you really want to treat yourself and splurge a little bit, Frame’s Le Jane jean in the cropped length feels especially fresh.
Frame’s High N’ Tight denim is a wide-leg dream: tight at the waist but loose even through the hips. Like a jean palazzo pant! On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you’re still rocking the skinnies, I love the extra-long length of these High-Life jeans from Mother.
