We’re celebrating eight years of Get In The Groove. I can’t believe it! I have loved every minute of building this community. To celebrate, I put together a list of the things that represent us: classic, stylish, but totally modern. Here’s to many more years with all of you.
I’ve always believed that I look my best when I’m dressing according to my taste, and not to trends. I’ve tried so many versions of classics, but I’ve finally locked in on my favorites. J.Crew’s vintage-inspired t-shirt is the perfect layering piece under sweaters and blazers, but it works just as well on it’s own. Speaking of J.Crew, their Perfect Cashmere Sweater is as good a sweater as any high-end designer sweater.
Certain items are always classic, but that doesn’t mean they’re timeless. Getting a newer version of certain time-tested pieces can instantly make you look modern instead of dated. This year, I bought Quince’s cropped leather jacket. It’s sleek, sexy, and makes me feel very, very cool. The same goes for jeans! This year, I’ve switched from a more casual light blue, 90s-inspired denim to a pair with a little more edge: a straight cut, dark wash jean from Frame that feels more formal.
The best skincare and makeup shouldn’t make you magically look like someone else. They make you look like the best possible version of yourself – and that’s exactly what the seven beauty products I can’t live without will do. Let’s start with skincare! I love science first skincare, like Neova’s DNA Total Repair serum and Elemis’s cleansing balm make washing my face a ritual instead of a chore. And to finish it all off, it doesn’t get more luxurious than Augustinus Bader’s Cream.
All of our recommendations are curated by Susan & the In The Groove editorial team. In some, but not all cases, we receive a small commission for leading you to what, how, and where to buy all this wonderful stuff.
