There’s a packing trend making the rounds on Instagram called the Sudoku Packing Method, and I have to admit—it’s pretty brilliant. The concept is simple: pack within a color story and choose pieces that work together in multiple ways. Just like a Sudoku puzzle, every piece has a purpose and connects with the others.
What I love most is how much versatility you get from a relatively small number of items. With just 3 bottoms, 3 tops, and 3 finishing pieces, you can create at least 14 outfits—and often many more. Once you start mixing and matching, the possibilities really open up.Add a couple of pairs of shoes, a few accessories, and a swimsuit if you’re headed somewhere warm, and you have everything you need for a weekend getaway, a longer vacation, or even a carry-on-only trip.
The key is sticking to a cohesive color palette so every piece works with every other piece. And don’t forget to count the outfit you’re wearing on the plane—it can add even more options to your travel wardrobe. I also recommend wearing your sneakers while traveling, which frees up valuable suitcase space. Less packing, more outfit options, and a lot less stress. Bon voyage!
