In full transparency, Get in the Groove has had to take a bit of a back seat lately. I’ve been swamped—but with really fun things. Entertaining at my house, running a very big golf tournament and generally having a little too much going on.So when I sat down to think about Sunday’s email, I decided to keep it simple and just show you what’s actually sitting in my cart for fall right now.
But then I noticed something funny. Almost everything in my cart was a jacket, coat or some kind of finishing piece. And I had a little aha moment. If you already own a great pair of jeans—and hopefully you’ve added a pair of dark denim for fall—and you have your favorite tee or cashmere sweater, you really don’t need to reinvent your wardrobe every season.
Sometimes the easiest way to make everything you already own feel new and current is to add one great piece that does the work for you. A fabulous jacket. An interesting coat. Something with a little texture, color, shape or personality. The piece that takes jeans and a tee from perfectly fine to an outfit. Apparently that’s exactly what I’m shopping for right now.
