January is all about resetting, refreshing, and getting back into the rituals. It’s not about weight loss or New Year’s Resolutions, but more about reflection and setting myself up for success in the new year. Whether you’re getting back to the Pilates reformer, hitting the pickle ball court, or just wanting to increase your step intake, the Active Edit is here to help! After all, isn’t everything more fun with a cute outfit?
Let’s start with leggings. It’s time to toss out all your raggedy pairs and invest in a few new ones. Zella Studio’s 7/8 leggings, Alo Yoga’s Airlift leggings, and Spanx’s Booty Boost leggings are all some of my favorites. Investing doesn’t have to mean spending a lot, either. A friend told me about The Gym People’s high waist yoga pants that they found on Amazon, and I was shocked at how much I love them for a mere $20 each. And I also love the slight flare on this Beyond Yoga pair, if you’re not feeling a total bodycon moment.
Varley has been one of my favorite brands lately, because their stuff really feels elevated. It feels like so much more than just gym wear. This navy blue sherpa jacket is as good on a hike as it is with your favorite jeans and sneakers, and their signature half-zip sweater in a periwinkle blue is a bright spot on a drab winter day. Get in on the chocolate brown trend with this rich puffer jacket, perfect for slipping into after a workout class.
When it comes to sneakers, I’ve been eyeing a pair of seriously technical Salomon trainers. They stand up to heavy duty activity but I also saw several Instagram fashion girls wearing them with their usual jeans and sweatshirts. There’s something so fresh about the contrast! These Nike Zoom Romeros have a similar feel, and I love the tan-and-cream color way.
