It’s officially summer! And to celebrate, we’re back with one of our travel capsule collection edits to make any weekend trips you have a breeze. We’re focused on a black and white wardrobe you can easily mix-and-match, so all you have to worry about is your itinerary.
Let’s start with bottoms. I often get dressed from the bottom up, because I think choosing between jeans, shorts, and a skirt can really set the tone. In this case, the tops you’re packing will work with everything, so it’s about utilizing them in different ways. Take these COS white linen shorts. I love the elasticated waistband, which makes them very comfortable. They have a breezy flexibility to them, perfect for walking around outside or a leisurely lunch. Compare them to these white Veronica Beard jeans, which are a little more rigid, a little more dramatic. And this A-line cotton white Mango skirt brings a more romantic, feminine element into your suitcase.
When it comes to top, I have a more routine approach. I like my classics: an oversized linen button down that goes with everything, a crochet sweater for tossing over my shoulders, the perfect slim fit tee. And of course, there are always dresses. I wear more dresses on vacation than in my regular life, because it’s so easy to just throw them on and go. For a day or night out, you can’t go wrong with this block-print J.Crew slip dress, this glamorous COS boatneck midi, or this embroidered LoveShackFancy maxi dress.
Don’t overthink your accessories! A minimalist leather flip flop will work in any situation or terrain, like this Larroude pair with a subtle buckle detail. I also love this easy-to-wear black and white pair of slides from J.Crew. And if you’re really feeling fancy, slither these sexy strappy heels from Emme Parsons onto your foot.
