This is the time of year when I’m always most excited to shop. A coat, fresh pair of boots, or new jeans shape has the power to completely remake your wardrobe. So what’s on our fall wishlists? This season, we have leopard statement pieces, ladylike purses, and cozy transitional jackets in our carts.
Have you noticed suede is everywhere right now? It feels like it’s in every single brand editorial and it’s finally starting to trickle out in accessories releases. There are these gorgeous chukka Gucci tobacco brown ankle boots, which I am obsessed with! How about a beautiful, ladylike bag that is right on trend from Parker Thatch? Emme Parsons, one of fashion’s favorite cult brands, has a beautiful slip on loafer in a slipper style. Like something to wear with a tuxedo, especially in a chic black suede.
And while it’s not suede, this Banana Republic black leather bomber jacket is setting off all the pleasure centers in my brain. Look at the slouch of this shoulder, the perfect length, the oversized silhouette that lets you wear your chunkiest sweater underneath. Quince’s leather motorcycle jacket is a more cropped option, if you prefer that.
In fact, let’s talk jackets. I can’t wait to throw on this plaid J.Crew barn jacket. I think it’s a particularly distinctive entry in the trend, thanks to the length and plaid pattern. Imagine how chic thrown over this chocolate brown knit dress and a pair of croc-embossed ballet flats. What about a lightweight leopard print trench? I love the oversized lapels and slightly dropped shoulders, which would look very good tossed over these Banana Republic wide leg jeans and a cute little tan purse.
Finally, for a little treat, I’m treating myself to a vampy Bordeaux Chanel polish for my next manicure.
