This month, with spring (and our allergies) in full bloom, all of us at Get In The Groove are thinking of balmy weather and a full social calendar. Al fresco dinners, beach days, and summer travel will be here before we know it, and all of our purchases this month reflect that. Romantic floral tops, white jeans, and woven bags will work well into September – and that’s what we call a good investment. Check out what’s in our carts below.
Summer tops are always kind of hard to find, so when you find a good one you have to grab it. This Alice + Olivia blouson top ticks all the boxes. The floral pattern reminds me of a DeGournay wallpaper, and the floaty silk and cotton fabric make it easy to wear all summer long. Anthropologie’s lace blouse is all white, but just as floaty. J.Crew’s hot pink linen shirt id a fresh update on a wardrobe staple.
And speaking of the feminine mystique, maybe it’s the spring talking but I’m more drawn to skirts and dresses than ever. This minimalist summer knitted dress from Matteau has clean, modern lines in a crisp white. & Other Stories pink and red floral dress would be wonderful at a Mother’s Day brunch next month, or just as good at a garden wedding later in the summer. Finally, for sprucing up your everyday attire, I love this Alex Mill striped pull-on skirt. It’s full, it’s flouncy, it’s femme.
When we’re in these weird between-season times, I rely heavily on accessories that I can wear during both. Right now, that means sandals – like these studded Valentino gladiators. They’re definitely an investment piece, but the tan leather and gold studs feel like jewelry for your feet. Veronica Beard’s dark brown braided leather sandals are low-key, but deeply chic. And finish it all off with a gorgeous, sculptural straw tote from Cassell.
