January is always the perfect time to get into a new book. Around this time, I’m either trying to decrease my screen time, exhausted from the holidays, or doing Sober January and reading a book helps with all three. So, we rounded up some of the best books to curl up with this month – and the cutest reading glasses from CADDIS so you can, you know, actually read the book. Read ahead for our favorite January book club picks.
The top of my list? I got a copy of My Name is Barbra for the holidays, and I’ve already dug into this doorstopper of a memoir with relish. It’s over 1,000 pages and each one of them is filled with Barbra Streisand’s superstar voice. Go for a pair of frames that makes as big of a statement as Barbra does, like these cobalt blue Mister Cartoon square frames or these olive green Triple G aviator frames. Rose gold metal aviator Nola frames are as shiny as any of Barba’s golden statues.
The Fraud by Zadie Smith is a big, prestige novel from one of my favorite working writers. Zadie Smith takes on London and race with her usual incisive wit, tackling a Dickensian-era London with modern appeal and clarity. Pair the book with these equally traditional-meets-modern Wynston frames. I love the bookish tortoiseshell and the round-ish shape. Their Dogleg frames are on theme, too.
If you want to kick off the year with a murder mystery that’s also strangely uplifting, look no further than the newest Molly the Maid book: Mystery Guest. One of my favorite pairs of CADDIS glasses are also one of their best sellers – the Miklos frames. The classic black are my preferred color, but there’s also a tortoiseshell and if you want to mix it up.
