Frances Valentine is the kind of clothing brand that just makes you smile. The clothing and accessories are colorful and cheerful, with a retro design influence. The brand, which was co-founded by Kate Spade and Elyce Arons, lives up to the high bar the designers previously set. I love their fun prints and adorable accessories. Frances Valentine just makes getting dressed fun, and what’s not to love about that?
In the header image, I’m wearing this gorgeous pink floral coat. I love the color palette, and how much of a statement it is. Instant outfit! If you’re over coats, the print also comes in a spring-y, swing-y skirt and perfectly proportioned palazzo pants.
As far as statements go, I’m obsessed with this maxi wrap dress which feels special in a sea of dresses. Something about the retro design and garden party pattern all add up to much more than the sum of its parts. The crispness of a shirtdress in summer is irresistible, especially when it’s paired with something as unexpected as bold black and white stripes. Their Sunny midi dress is a breathable poplin in, you guessed it, sunny yellow with huge beautiful rosettes along the trim. All three dresses will take care of any occasions you have this summer.
Now that you’re dressed, let’s move on to accessories! The same cheery, colorful attitude is present in all of their pieces – whether we’re talking about a stack of perfectly mixed and matched bracelets or a ladylike double strand pearl necklace.
Even if you skew more neutral in your dressing, there’s plenty of room to play with your shoes! I love the Farah Kickball heel, which is geometric and fun and kind of like if those pretty Hermes lipsticks were a heel. Or inject a little bit of texture into your outfit with a pretty woven bag, like this wicker clutch or this lunchbox tote with a bamboo handle.
