Well, we’ve made it to the beginning of the summer. And you know what that means – the fashion industry collectively decides to put summer/spring collections on sale, effectively rewarding those of us who didn’t sartorially plan ahead. We know it’s only the beginning of sale season, and the really big ones are on the Memorial Day horizon. For now though, there are some really great pieces that we’ve been coveting for a minute now.
With our eyes on the season ahead, the pieces we’re focusing on are statement pieces. Some are more versatile than others, but all of them are a little more special than your average everyday basics.
These Alexander Wang crystal slides are dramatic enough for day or night, and would look equally fun with jeans and a t-shirt or a maxi skirt. The same goes for this on-trend pair of Teva-esque sandals from 3.1 Phillip Lim in an eye-catching silver.
Summer nights can still be chilly – so grab a statement making cardigan that will keep you warm. This one from Anthropologie masterfully mixes animal print, delicate florals, and summery sorbet colors.
And because you shouldn’t neglect your accessories, we found two pairs of earrings that you can build an entire outfit around. Rebecca de Ravenel’s gold horn pair would look perfect with this season’s head to toe khaki monochrome. Kenneth Jay Lane’s mismatched gemstone earrings would pop against any summery white sundress or even your favorite white t-shirt.
If nothing is catching your eye in our edit, don’t be discouraged. You can shop the sales at some of your favorite places yourselves.
