Packing for a long weekend can be surprisingly intimidating. At least for longer trips, you can pack an entire checked bag. My trick? Making sure everything I bring goes with everything else, and that you can mix-and-match outfits. Yes, that even means your travel outfit. Luckily, Nordstrom has everything you need for a perfect packing list, and a perfectly packed vacation, all in one place.
When it comes to traveling, you have to start with your luggage. The right carry-on or suitcase will set you up for success and make organizing everything a breeze. For example, the BEIS carryon has a nifty little compartment just for shoes – or whatever new things you’ve picked up during your trip. Their 21-inch roller bag easily fits in the overhead bin, and the carryon duffel easily slides over the handle.
As far as clothing goes, one of the best packing hacks is to make sure everything is in a similar color palette. For this summery trip, I picked creams, tans, and a few pale pinks. That way, all the pieces are visually cohesive. It’s also all about layers! For a base layer, you can’t go wrong with your favorite white tee. For me, that means ATM’s slub cotton v-neck. This pima cotton crewneck is a bit more substantial and structured, too. Make sure you have a beige-y sweater for chilly flights, or any museums once you get there.
Of course, you’ll need a white jean. Frame’s slouchy straight cut are my current favorite. They’re comfortable but they don’t feel too sloppy or trendy. Just perfectly worn in and effortless. Top it all off with a pair of neutral sneakers, equally great for walking around sightseeing or shuffling through the security line. I love these Dolen woven sneakers which have a summery vibe. They’re pretty good dupes for the Chloe pair too!
