I’ve always believed that great style doesn’t have to come with a designer price tag. And lately, Steve Madden is making a pretty convincing case for that! I have to say, I am seriously impressed with what they’re doing this season. They have so many fabulous shoes that give you that designer look (wink, wink) at a fraction of the price.
Now, before you accuse me of talking out of both sides of my mouth, let me explain. Yes, there are absolutely times when I think investing in a fabulous pair of designer shoes is worth every penny. You know I love a great shoe! But there are also times when I just want the look and have absolutely no desire to spend a fortune to get it. And frankly, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
That’s what I love about mixing high and low. It’s not about how much something costs. It’s about knowing when to splurge and when to save. And Steve Madden is making the saving part pretty easy this season. From chic ballet flats and sleek boots to some of the hottest styles all the “it” girls are wearing, they’ve really covered the gamut. Some of these are so good, you might just do a double take.
So if you’re looking to up your fall shoe game without breaking the bank, I’ve rounded up the Steve Madden styles that caught my eye.
Karlson Dark Cherry Boot, $169.95
Is it fall without a new pair of black boots? After a love affair with my knee highs last year, I’m craving the practicality of an ankle boot. And the sculptural, subtle heel of the Karlson boot will leave an impression – even if you just see a curve of it underneath your favorite beat up jeans.

I love this easy slip-on silhoutte that doesn’t sacrifice any polish with it’s sleek toe. Not to mention, the snakeskin is a statement maker all on its own. Animal print is everywhere this season – and snake is a great way to stand out in a way that feels elevated and grown up.
It’s not a new trend that Birkenstocks can be chic – but it still remains true. There’s something a bit more elevated about these slides, with their clean, minimal modern lines. I think they would look especially great with a pair of barrel pants, or easy corduroy pants.
