Skirts are everywhere this year, and I’m leaning in. After all, what’s not to love? They’re breezy, they’re feminine, and whenever I spin in one I feel like Grace Kelly. Below, we picked out 20 of our favorite summer skirts to twirl in all season long.
I’m talking about a-line skirts in breezy fabrics, nothing too short or too fitted. We’re thinking mid-length, almost retro. The reference is Gwyneth Paltrow in Talented Mr. Ripley. A khaki-colored swinging skirt from COS has an elastic waistband for maximum comfort. Keep the comfort up with this crisp white colored A-line skirt from By Malene Birger. I really love Banana Republic right now, and this sky blue poplin skirt is a perfect example of the feminine but not fussy vibe they have going in their current collection.
If you’re looking for something a little bit longer, this COS black linen maxi skirt is pretty and super minimal. This white J.Crew textured, crinkly skirt is white and floaty, but still super breezy. Reiss’s linen maxi skirt in an oatmeal shade has a little more polish thanks to the cinched waist and built-in belt. And speaking of polish, of course you can count on Tory Burch for the perfect ladies-who-lunch skirt with some edge. Her pleated poplin skirt has a razor-sharp crease that gives it an almost geometric shape. This almond pleated Rohe skirt has a similar vibe, too.
On the slinkier side of things, there’s a midi-length silk slip skirt from J.Crew in a very subdued, chic polka dot. Sometimes polka dots can feel pretty juvenile or too Minnie Mouse, but I love the smaller scale of this pattern and the tam-and-black color palette. Mango’s silk skirt is a pearly white with the kind of sheen that looks great with a tan. Gap’s white linen skirt is still long, but it’s cut a little closer to the body for a skimming silhouette.
