There’s been a lot to miss this year, from holiday parties to vacations to eating and not having to do the dishes afterwards. But most of all? I miss my girlfriends. I miss being in one room and just talking. Maybe that’s why I’m thinking about Christmas presents for my friends a little more than usual. In a year without many celebrations, my Christmas gifts are a reminder that im still here, and I still love them. Maybe you’ll feel the same after seeing our Girlfriends Gift Guide.
Every single one of my friends is fucking fabulous, and so they all deserve this Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous candle. Equally fabulous but perhaps less profane options: this Yves Saint Laurent red lipstick to be worn at the first night back out, these pearl huggie earrings perfect for adding some polish to any outfit, and this insanely festive sequined mask. Oh, and this pair of cashmere socks which feels so insanely indulgent that it’s practically a perfect gift.
I’m not friends with Ina Garten, but everyone I know (including myself) wishes they were. Give them the next best thing, which is her new cookbook Modern Comfort Food. Have any single friends? Give them the gift of an entirely different kind of modern comfort with this Crave Vesper Vibrator necklace.
Since we’re all drinking at home, what about a new pair of wine glasses to elevate the experience? And if you’re drinking wine at home, you need to give them something to cozy up with. New slippers, perhaps? We love this knitted sock pair, this suede shearling pair, and this pretty pair with a bow on top.
How about this monogrammed deck of cards to liven up their next night in? New napkins to freshen up their tabletop game? If all else fails, go for the Ouija board. Maybe they’ll find out what 2021 has in store.
