As editors, we get to try a lot of stuff every year. It can even be a little overwhelming at times, which is what gave us the idea for this email. Think of this as our year-end Best of 2021 list: the best things we bought this year that we would definitely buy again. From green beauty MVPs to the perfect white t-shirt, there’s something on the list that will change your life.
CLOTHES
The right piece of clothing can make your entire life feel easier. Anine Bing’s black Jagger jean is easy to dress up or down, and always super flattering. A cashmere mockneck sweater is just as much of a wardrobe workhorse. Jenni Kayne’s Everyday Sweater even has everyday in the name. Everlane’s black leather ballet flat is a fashion editor favorite and incredibly chic, and on the sportier side of things the Nike Daybreak sneaker is retro but modern at the same time.
BEAUTY
One of my biggest discoveries this year was Westman Atelier, a cult favorite beauty line beloved by makeup artists and celebrities a like. Their products are green, and the packaging is gorgeous. It truly makes my beauty routine easier and quicker, and I always feel amazing. The Baby Cheeks Blush Stick and Lit Up Highlighter are an easy place to start. The Erborian CC Creme is, as always, the perfect combination of coverage and color correction. Augustinus Bader’s The Cream is expensive, but I really do think it’s worth it.
HOME
I am obsessed with everything Dyson, whether it’s their life-changing cordless vacuum or their higher-end model that’s great for cleaning up after pets. My husband is a bit of a coffee expert, and the Mocca Master is the machine that makes the best at-home brew. You can never have too many Diptyque candles around the house, and make sure to have a bottle of Murchison-Hume x Jenni Kayne soap at every sink.
