Ok, let’s talk boots—and specifically, the boots that are going to make everything in your closet feel a little more current this fall. Boot trends have a funny way of completely changing the mood of an outfit. You don’t necessarily need new clothes—sometimes a new shape, heel or color is enough to bring everything else forward.
This fall, it’s less about reinventing the boot and more about subtle updates to the ones we already know and love. The overall direction is sleeker and more refined: slimmer heels, streamlined shapes and chic flats that feel modern without trying too hard. And then there’s brown. Rich chocolate brown is giving black some serious competition as the neutral of the season, and I love it with everything from dark denim and black to camel, cream and gray.
But you know what may be my favorite part? These boots are actually comfortable. And for someone like me who pretty much gets dressed from the shoe—or in this case, the boot—up, that matters! I went looking and found some really good ones. A few definitely give off designer vibes without the designer price tag, and most come in multiple colors and fabrications.
