So you’re not flying off for an exotic holiday by the beach at a resort or running around sightseeing in far-flung cities this summer. But even if you’re just lounging in your backyard and walking around your neighborhood, the sun is there. And you need to protect your skin from it. Of course, you should always be wearing sunscreen. But hats, especially a stylish one, is like putting a cherry on top of your sun protection sundae: a little bit dramatic, and always a good idea.
The bigger the hat, the more sun protection you get, so we’re starting with the biggest we’ve got. This oversized, floppy straw hat from Mango. This olive green, wide-brim hat from Cos is serving high-drama and high-fashion. What about this ladylike hat with a bunny neck tie? I love the graphic, retro feel of this straw and black flat top floppy hat, too.
You want the classics? We have those, too. Like the Joanna straw hat with a thick black ribbon is great. Or this perfectly packable straw hat with a white ribbon. If even the ribbon is too much for you, I love this Janessa Leone Misha hat.
Maybe a hat isn’t really your thing, which is fine. An incredibly stylish straw visor with leopard accents is always an option. Maybe you’re not really into straw. That’s fine, too! There’s a pretty pastel pink option waiting for you. Or an all-black Panama hat for a cool update. Bucket hats are still trending, and Mango’s khaki oversized option is a more elegant version of the usual bucket hat. I always love adding a little bit of color into an outfit, and Gap’s straw hat with a pink and purple fringe is an easy way to do that.
