It really does feel like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, doesn’t there? With vaccines available for every adult who wants them on May 1st, I’m letting myself fantasize about taking a vacation. You’ll probably be able to tell by what I’m loving for this April.
Kaftans
Kaftans are truly fabulous. As fabulous swanning around with a cocktail at a dinner party as they are poolside, which makes it the perfect piece of clothing for a season full of al fresco socializing.
The understated color blocking on this Tory Burch kaftan gives the kaftan a modern update. This leopard-print kaftan from Good American is glamorous in all the best ways. Block printing and cornflower blue make this cotton kaftan bohemian and romantic. Lemlem and J.Crew’s hot pink collaboration is gorgeous.
Scarves
I’m very into scarves right now. And not just wearing them tied around my head Grace Kelly style. I wear them around my wrists, around my neck, around the handle of a purse, and of course as a face covering.
J.McLaughlin has a bunch of beautiful, blue patterned scarves like this geometric one, this Gucci-esque one, and this bohemian one.
Grecian Sandals
Yes, these sandals feel super vacation-y, but they work just as well running errands or browsing your local farmer’s market.
The more minimal the better, like these stunning Ancient Greek Sandals (yes, that’s really the name of the brand). Tkees suede and leather sandals are a less pricey alternative. A strappy, powder blue variety would look great with a tan, as would this crisp white pair.
Menswear Shirt
A perfectly oversized shirt can pull double duty if you’re on vacation: you can wear it sightseeing or as a swimsuit coverup. And if you’re hanging at home? It’s comfortable and chic.
You can always rely on AYR for stylish, elevated staples and their Deep End shirt is no different. If you’re looking for a slimmer cut, then you can’t go wrong with J.Crew’s Irish linen shirt or COS’s fitted shirt. If you want to stock up, H&M’s shirt and $24.99 price tags makes it a lot easier.
Suitcase
If you’re going on your first vacation in a year, now’s the perfect time to get a new suitcase so you’re traveling in style. Rimowa’s silver suitcase is iconic, but I love this champagne-colored suitcase with red wheels from Floyd. Calpak’s Jen Atkin colas is understated and sleek, especially in this black graphite.
