This February, like always around this time of year, I have hearts in my eyes. I love hearts as a print, and I love them in pink or red or any color. And with Valentine’s right around the corner, I’m dreaming about date night essentials like dark denim, a pump heel that’s still comfortable, pearls in all different shapes and sizes, and a long jacket to finish it all off.
A little bit of pink when I’m getting dressed in the morning just cheers me up. It’s feminine and pretty, and always makes a statement. Especially during gloomy February. COS is reading our mind, because they have a killer lineup of sweater. I love this knitted sweater with ribbing at the collar and sleeves, this ribbed version with a bubbly sleeve, and this cashmere version – all in various shades of bubblegum pink.
A Touch of Pearls
Pearls are having a resurgence, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. You can go classic with a strand of pearls for a necklace or pearl studs. You can go a little more contemporary with freshwater pearls dangling from delicate hoops, or a pearl and gold-link chain necklace
Don’t overthink it – just grab some pink lipstick and keep it on your person at all times. Gucci’s new beauty line has a great lipstick, YSL’s goes on satiny smooth with glam gold packaging, and you can always rely on NARS.
I’m taking a break from winter whites and summery light washes. It’s time to embrace the winter with some dark denim. Right now, I’m all about this slightly cropped Madewell pair to show off my favorite pair of boots. Frame’s high-waisted Le Flare, Paige’s Manhattan jean, and Joe’s Jeans High Rose are all great full-length options.
A long, quilted jacket that’s heavy enough to wear now with layering, and light enough for spring? That’s a smart purchase. Uniqlo’s ultra-light down coat in a slate gray, Ted Baker’s version in a spring-y pea green, and Mango’s khaki green coat all have a utilitarian spin. Rag & Bone’s midnight blue puffer, Madewell’s dusty rose coat, and Rag & Bone’s tan are slightly heavier weights.
