I don’t how it’s already October, but here we are. This month, I’m craving classic, comfortable pieces with a little twist. Shocking, right? I know we’re all craving comfort anywhere we can get it, and you know I love a classic. Read on my for my October favorites.
Sweater Vest
First, I’m cold. Then I put on a sweater, and I’m too hot. It’s a constant back and forth, filled with shivering and sweating. No more! Instead, I’ve been rocking a sweater vest. Right now, I’m wearing lighter weight ones like this Boden one or this camel-colored one from Intermix. When the temps drop, I can’t wait to wear this chunky, oversized fisherman knit vest.
3/4 Length Coat
In the winter, your coat is your entire outfit. That means you better have a good one that you really love. For me this season, that means a 3/4 length coat that adds instant sophistication to any outfit. You can’t go wrong with camel, but I also love this sherpa statement coat.
Lace-Up Boot
This season’s boot for me, is all about utility. I need something comfortable because if I’m leaving the house, it’s usually just to run errands. I’m loving a flat black lace-up boot, somewhere in between Victorian and combat. The lug sole and shine make this pair an instant winner. The different textures in this boot add interest.
Menswear Shirt
There is nothing in the world more comfortable than an oversized men’s shirt. I love the fun collar on this light blue one, the long length of this shirt, and of course, the classic from J.Crew.
Hat
You don’t have to worry about hat hair, because you’re not seeing anyone! I love this gray wool fedora, this Panama hat with a fun studded band, and this black hat with a nice ribbon.
Black Jeans
I still love a winter white, don’t get me wrong, but a pair of new black jeans feels fresh right now. I love a Demi-boot cut to show off shoes, a high-waisted flare for a dose of drama, or a cheeky straight cut for vintage-inspired vibes.
Socks
It might seem silly, but putting on fun socks makes me smile every time. Leopard print, socks that say ‘love you’, and this Kule pair are just a few of my favorites right now.
