Wedges are not always the coolest shoe in the room, but that doesn’t mean they’re not the cutest. The shoe is having a bit of a renaissance moment, popping up in unexpected new colors and textures.
Some personal favorites? This pair of Sophia Webster rainbow espadrille wedges is a perfect example of dressing from the foot up. The shoe manages to be both playful and sophisticated at the same time. They would look especially crisp with a wide leg cropped pant, all the better to show them off dear. Anthropologie has a more affordable take on this look with their Polly shoe, a wedge meets clog rainbow sherbet hybrid. Yes, they’re just as sweet as they sound.
If you’re feeling groovy (see what I did there?) then go for any of the wood heeled, 70s inspired wedges. This Michael Kors pair is high but more of a flatform than a platform, pretty much guaranteeing your comfort. If you want a more ladylike take on wood wedges, Splendid has you covered with their thin heel and leather straps.
If you’re into espadrilles, but want a little edge, try this Carrie Ford shoe on for size. The raffia means you stay beachy, but the black ups the cool factor more than the usual tan.
