It’s my 70th birthday! Instead of a birthday wishlist, I wanted to share the things that I have and love already. The things that make me feel like my best me: funny, smart, stylish at 70 years old. Because I can’t think of a better present to myself than sharing it with you.
You know I love a button down. They are the piece I reach for to wear with just about everything, and always make me feel like me. But which button down is my ultimate? The Brochu Walker everyday shirt. A little bit relaxed but never sloppy, the blue and white stripe makes every outfit feel more interesting. And on days when I want to feel a little but fancier, I reach for their Kate shirt. The puffed sleeves, smaller collar, and v-cut neckline are the perfect combination of feminine and modern.
The crop flare pant has been everywhere the last few things, thanks to High Sport’s pants on every fashion editor out there. Luckily, you don’t have to spend $800 to get the look. Spanx’s Ponte Flare Pant is my go-to for so many reasons. They’re comfortable, flattering, go with everything, make you look fancy even in a sweatshirt and sneakers. What more could you want from pants?
I’ve been singing Emme Parsons’s praises a lot lately, and her signature loafer is the shoe that started it all for me. I love the menswear-inspired shape, the quality of the leather, the way they molded to my feet. The embossed crocodile brown leather color way just feels insanely chic and rich. I can’t wear high heels anymore, but I still like a little lift. These Gianvito Rossi heels are a bit of a splurge, but I can justify it considering how much I wear them.
