Who is Singing In The Rain? Those of us who were worried about the drought are singing. Those of us who love to garden are singing. Those of us who like our hair full and fluffy are singing and those of us who love a good rain outfit can now come out singing!
Because how we usually cover up from the elements is an after-thought as in “ Damnit, I’m dressed and ready and now it’s starting to rain” we really should have a few standard raincoats hanging in our coat closets. Wouldn’t it be nice to replace that rubberized number that doesn’t even breathe with a super-cool high tech fabric poncho that has a removable down vest from Nike Labs? Or the Vince topper with leg-lengthening slits up the side which evoke Audrey Hepburn’s style is at the very top of our “we want a new raincoat list?
Inspired by the trenches of war, the basic Burberry trench is still fully entrenched in our closets and they are still wonderful for doing battle in airports and on the road but when we want a little more peacetime protection from the rain we are loving the happy yellow trench update from J. Crew and cheery red Proenza Schouler zip-up.
