I pulled together five fall outfits I really love—all with pieces you can actually shop—and then decided to see if AI could put me in them. I uploaded several photos of myself, gave AI the exact pieces for each outfit and told it, very specifically, “Keep this woman exactly as photographed.”
The outfits? Pretty great. The woman wearing them? Let’s just say she’s my younger, taller, slightly more polished AI cousin. But honestly, that’s what made this experiment so much fun. AI isn’t perfect. It didn’t magically create an exact digital version of me. But it did let me see five outfits put together, play with proportions, try combinations I hadn’t worn and get a pretty good idea of how the looks might work before buying anything.
And that was my real aha moment. You don’t have to understand every new piece of technology—or use it perfectly—to start playing with it. I think the important thing is to stay curious enough to try. So meet AI Susan. She’s not exactly me…but I have to admit, she has pretty good taste.
