When it comes to my summer wardrobe, I don’t like to splurge. Summer clothes are getting sandy, splashing, and wearing down. But I still want to look stylish without breaking the bank! We put together our affordable essentials edit filled with dresses, sandals, tops, and more – all for under $150.
Every summer, I live in the same things: linen button downs, breezy pants, and tons of one-and-done dresses. Dresses are a great way to really get a lot of look for your money, like this boat-neck black and white striped stunner from COS, this floaty J.Crew block printed midi dress, or this orange balloon skirted number from Mango. And with a few accessories and the right shoe, they can easily work for day or night.
A fun new top can make your favorite jeans or pants feel completely fresh! Maybe it’s this blooming lilac print J.Crew shirt, a perfectly proportioned linen t-shirt in an unexpected color, or a delicate lacy blouse to pair with everything from pin tucked skirts to baggy jeans.
And then there are the pieces that add something completely new to your wardrobe, pieces that are outside of your comfort zone. If you don’t wear a lot of color, a more budget friendly option is a great way to test it out. How about a pair of tomato red drawstring pants or or these swirly black-and-white printed pants to add a little polish to your farmer’s market run? You might live in your white button down all summer, but what if you swapped in this rich blueberry linen Gap shirt instead?
Don’t forget about sandals! I’m really hard on my shoes in the summer, so I rely on places like Zara and Mango for barely there sandals I don’t have to be too precious about. I love these chocolate brown suede wedges for when I need a little lift, these sporty silver leather flips flops, or these chic black-and-gold strappy flat sandals.
