I’m not dressed up everyday. I run errands, I lounge in my sweats, I go for walks with friends. That’s why I’ve been living in these athletic cargo pants from Athlete. The Athleta high-waisted cargo pants are my absolute favorite. The pockets are an extra design element that really makes them feel like more than sweatpants.They’re the same ones I’m wearing in the header image! The black is a classic option but I’ve been drawn to a brighter khaki color for spring. I haven’t done it yet but I imagine dressing them up with a low-heeled mule and a slouchy oversized tuxedo blazer.
Lululemon has a similar cargo pant that I’ve been eyeing. It’s a little looser, a little more casual but at the same time it also makes me feel a little cooler. The graphite gray or army green color could easily be worn with your favorite t-shirt and sneakers or a sweater and your most reliable black heels. Their vintage-inspired tearaway pants in a shiny, marshmallow-y color feels unexpectedly expensive. I love the tonal buttons! Alo’s cargo pant has a wider leg and feels even less like a sweatpants! I love the chocolate brown shade, which I think is going to be my color of the summer.
If you’re paying attention to the fashion trends this year, you’ve probably heard about the editor-approved High Sport pant. While those kick flares will set you back about a thousand dollars, Athleta’s Endless High Rise pant comes in under $110. The more mid-rise Brooklyn pant scratches the same itch, too.
