We’ve fallen back in love with Bermuda shorts. Over the past few years, they’ve gone from hard-to-style to an absolute slam dunk. Why? Because of the fashion industry’s rediscovered love for tailoring and slightly oversized but structured silhouettes. All of the suiting and menswear inspired trends that have dominated the fashion conversation in the past season translates beautifully to Bermuda shorts.
It’s no secret we’ve been having a love affair with khaki and the return of prep. And with a pair as good as these Vince ones, how can you blame us? The wide leg makes it easy to dress up, almost like a skirt. The Frankie Shop has a lighter, looser version that imitates some of our favorite trousers from last season. Mango’s plus-size line Violeta is really good right now too, especially this pair of linen shorts.
Maybe you just want a pair of jean shorts. That’s fine too! Look for a clean pair that’s not too baggy without any rips. This pair from James Jeans, a denim line based in LA, nails the casual California vibe without swinging all the way bohemian.
Don’t forget about basic black. This Vince pair works just as well on a golf course as it would t dinner. And if you’re feeling really bold, then you should check out Prada’s tie-dye shorts . We can’t promise they’ll be a forever piece, but it would be fun while it lasted.
