We’re waving the white flag, and surrendering to white clothing for the rest of the summer. The crisp coolness of a head-to-toe white look holds up even in the most sweltering heat. We’ve picked out our favorite pieces from Bloomingdales, from summer-weight suiting to classic white shirts to breezy dresses. No matter what you choose we can guarantee one thing: you’ll look as cool as you feel.
I’ve been really into dresses this year, and am wearing them more than ever. They’re just so easy! This tiered Cinq A Sept midi dress can be worn with everything from your sneakers and jean jacket to your favorite heels for date night. Do you want sleeves? No worries! This LoveShackFancy lace dress has an almost elbow length sleeve, and this Cinq A Sept dress even has a statement sleeve. I also love the romance of this Aqua swish-y halter dress, which I’m imagining on a vacation near a beach.
But look, I’m not always dressed up in a dress. Usually I’m in my standard white shirt and a pair of pants I love. Wearing a monochromatic, all-white version of that is definitely a way to elevate it. Rails, a brand I’ve been seeing a lot of lately, has a perfect summer weight gauzy shirt and this Elan one is similar. It’s hard to beat a fresh white cotton shirt, and I love the shape of this Reiss one. The lace and embroidery on this ba&sh top make for a stunning statement piece.
Let’s talk pants! A wide-leg, high-waisted pair of white trousers is key to summer dressing. I love this Rag & Bone pair almost looks like a chino, while this Reiss pair is pleated if that’s more your style. And while you’re at it, toss a blazer on with it like this Rag & Bone one I’m wearing in the header for a white-hot tailoring look.
