It’s not a secret that coat season is one of my favorite times to get dressed. It makes your outfits more dramatic, but also easier. After all, if you have a great coat during the colder months, most of your outfit is already taken care of. This year, we put together an edit of all our favorite pieces from Bloomingdale’s – so all you have to do is shop! From shearling to puffers, camel to tweed, there’s something for everyone to bundle up in.
The long and the short of it is, I like a long and a short coat! They serve different purposes, both stylistically and functionally. A long coat can be dressier and more formal, not to mention it’s necessary when you need to keep your legs warm! You know I love a classic silhouette, and this T Tahari belted wrap coat in black is as classic as it gets. Sea’s herringbone coat conjours up the usual fall vibes, but the black faux-fur collar will take you right into winter.
Anine Bing’s Dylan coat is a perfect hybrid: equal parts trench coat and robe coat, all wrapped up in one beautiful camel piece. This Essential Antwerp faux-fur coat gives you classic cozy vibes, but the dark brown and black color blocking is undeniably modern. I also love their teddy bear brown version with artistic swaths of red, and the fun kelly green coat for the color maximalists.
A shorter coat can be better for athletic or more casual things, and sometimes it’s hard to create a sporty look that still feels stylish. Not anymore! Moncler’s splurgeworthy jackets are especially sleek and purposeful in a shorter, black version, and I love the white, marshmallow-y Celac jacket with black accents. But my go-to for the season is this Herno faux-fur and puffer hybrid, giving extra interest to the all-black color palette.
