Consider me a blue jean baby, because I think blue jeans are one of America’s greatest inventions. The right pair can do almost anything in your wardrobe, working as well with sneakers as your favorite heels. This year, I’m really into a wider leg instead of my usual straight. But whatever your cut, Bloomingdale’s has a pair for you.
If you’re wide-leg curious, we’ve got some really great options for you. I think a wide-leg is super flattering. It creates it’s own shape, with your waist being the smallest point. It’s got a little bit of dramatic flair, pun intended. And it feels the easiest to dress up of all the jeans. In the header image, I’m wearing this pair of light wash, slightly cropped Le Slim jeans from Frame. They feel perfect for right now, but in the fall I’ll wear with a higher ankle boot just as easily. The same pair comes in a darker wash, which I also love. For something that feels a little more fall, I’m eyeing these longer Paige jeans. They’ll make your legs look about a mile long! These super dark wash AG jeans will have the same effect, too.
As I look forward to fall, I also couldn’t help but think about a new denim jacket. Denim on denim has been everywhere lately. For me, the key is to wear two different shades of denim so it doesn’t feel too matchy matchy. I love this slightly more fitted cropped Paige jacket. Perfect for wearing with a higher-waisted jean (which I almost always do).
Finally, what am I usually wearing with jeans? A t-shirt. They’re like peanut butter and chocolate; they just go together. Here are a couple different t-shirts I can always rely on: ATM’s Schoolboy Crewneck, Cotton Citizen’s slightly distressed tee, and Splendid’s v-neck tee.
