We really like the colors closest to the face, actually also on the face to be like our favorite summer wine – rose. It’s the season for pink but actually almost every season, loves pink when we aren’t wearing black, of course. Ballet Slipper, Mademoiselle, even the insultingly named Starter Wife are still our favorite nail polish colors and for good reason – they flatter the hands . Pink blush makes a world of difference on a tired or sad face and a little bit of pink gloss on the rim of a tea cup says “tread lightly, femininity at work.”
In fact , pale pink, was Coco Chanel’s signature and she was well aware of what flatters a woman most. With fireworks celebrations and beach parties, cookouts and cocktails on the lake upon us, we want that glow of good health without the damaging tan and the most reliable solution is a clean pale pink confection of a silk blouse or a crisp cotton eyelet dress Pale pink trousers topped with a lightweight cashmere sweater are the best in Connecticut or anywhere we can think of and when we put trendy pink sunglasses on our heads or this adorable pink bucket bag on the front seat of our convertible, we channel Grace Kelly in “The Philadelphia Story.” Grace probably had a few pairs of these leather ballet flats in the perfect shade of pink and calling this a sweatshirt just seems wrong – how about a “glistenshirt” instead?
