Camel is one of my favorite colors, without a doubt. It’s a neutral that goes with everything, but it feels a little bit fresher and unexpected than a black or white. If we’re being honest, it feels downright luxurious – especially when it comes to the super-soft knits and fabrics we’re living in this winter.
Camel Sweaters
Jenni Kayne is a treasure trove of wearable uniform pieces, like this Everyday Sweater. Peep the ribbed detail on the sleeves and around the neck as a bit of extra flair. There are few things in life more luxurious than a huge cashmere sweater, and this COS one also has a great price point. Wrap yourself up in this washable belted cashmere cardigan from Bloomingdale’s cashmere selection. For something a little more layer able, this Lauren Ralph Lauren ribbed turtleneck sweater fits the bill. How about a sweater….dress? This midi-length wool knit dress from COS would look amazing with high boots.
Camel Coats
Camel coats just make you look better, especially a classic long cloth one like this J.Crew topcoat or this long Mango coat with pockets. I especially love the extra-large lapel on this Michael Kors coat, perfect for throwing over a slouchy sweater. This belted coat from T Tahari is a super-flattering way to cinch your waist, and Anine Bing’s Sawyer jacket has a boxy, utilitarian appeal. If you’re feeling trendy, go for a cropped cozy sherpa jacket or the perfect waterproof puffer.
Camel Pants
A good pair of camel trousers can take you just about anywhere, whether you’re heading back to the office in perfectly tailored pants like this wide-leg Mango pair or still hanging out at home in comfy cashmere joggers. Banana Republic’s trousers would work with a crisp white shirt or your favorite crewneck hoodie, and you can never go wrong with a pair of tapered cargo pants.
