Khaki and white is one of my all-time favorite color combinations, especially in the summer. So when I saw this picture, I knew I wanted to write an email about it. A chino and crisp white shirt works for just about any occasion you have this summer, from sightseeing on vacation to a backyard bbq. Summer-y accessories like sandals and a sculptural purse play with texture to add interest and layers.
We’ll start with the basics: the perfectly proportioned chinos and a white shirt. Right now, I’m feeling an extra-wide leg like this Banana Republic pair or this Citizens of Humanity pair. The rest of the outfit is all about the details. You’re going to need a pair of chic leather sandals, the strappier the better. Consider these “the naked dress” of shoes. Boden’s Easy Flat sandals are under $100, as are these Gia sandals by Sarto by Franco Sarto. I love the barely-there presence of these Boden sandals that tie around the ankle.
Lastly, but certainly not least, we are talking gold hoops and woven bags. You know I love a gold hoop, but the chubby shape of these Kenneth Jay Lane earrings are my favorite. Mersea’s striped bag brings an extra edge to the usual purse, but I love a classic woven tote – especially at this friendly of a price from ASOS.
