Winter is long, and boring, and we’re all stuck in our houses. Getting dressed in the morning is one of the things I actually have to look forward to every day, and while there aren’t a lot of trends I’m trying out at the moment, I have been color crushing hard on winter whites.
It’s so crisp and clean, and it’s far less dangerous to wear it from my kitchen table to my sofa than wearing it out and about in the world. It also lends a specific crispness to sweats, which I’ve been living in a lot. A comfy pair of cotton sweatpants like these, and a sweatshirt with a fun, fashion-y detail this funnel neck or this proper turtleneck can look absolutely elegant if you put on a little jewelry. This COS sweatshirt is minimalist, but no less fun.
I have a weakness for Ralph Lauren and turtlenecks, so this cream cable-knit sweater is a dream. Everlane’s Stroopwaffle sweater is an easy way to inject texture (there’s an oversized one, too!), as is this Club Monaco bouclé turtleneck. COS’s chunky cashmere sweater is the kind of thing you can wear for years, and it will always look cool.
Tone on tone dressing is the easiest way to add instant cool to any outfit, and these Mother Jeans are everything I want in a pair of denim. If you’re ready to venture into the land of trousers, this Club Monaco cropped pair is waiting for you. These slouchy COS chinos are somewhere in between.
Top it all off with the perfect coat, like this sherpa cropped number or this statement long fuzzy cardigan. Since my big outings these days are a walk around the house, a new white pair of Air Max 270 sneakers is a statement addition to my wardrobe. These white shearling Birkenstock-esque slides are the perfect house shoes.
