As we reach the end of summer, sneakers are the perfect transitional shoe. More than a sandal, less than a boot, and all the way comfy, you can wear them with everything from flirty skirts to tailored trousers. This year, instead of relying on the usual white, I’m going for more of a statement. We’re talking about the perfect colorful sneakers, and even fun prints! Something to make this pair of sneakers feel special while we wait to slip into some ankle boots.
Whatever kind of color mood you’re in, we’ve got you covered. Looking for something on the brighter side? Neon is having a moment, and a little bit on a sneaker goes a long way. These Asics Gel-Lytes, this teal-and-coral Outdoor Voices pair, or this bubblegum pink and baby blue pair of Adidas shoes would spruce up your go-to jeans and t-shirt. They’d also be great with white jeans in this weird transitional period.
If you’re more about a subtler pastel, we got plenty of those, too! I love Nike’s Daybreak silhouette because it’s retro but modern, and this pink-and-white pair with a fun botanical detail is so cute. Veja is a master of low-key, stylish sneakers. Just look at this pink-and-white pair, this sage-green and baby blue version in leather and mesh, and this griege and pink pairing.
Every year when fall rolls around, I start craving leopard print. Get a jump start on that with some leopard print like these all-over Golden Goose sneakers or this more subtle leopard-and-tan version from APL. On the other end of the print spectrum, I love the folksy bandana print on these Supergas. It’s also possible to dip your toe into the tie-dye trend with these Golden Goose sneakers.
