It can be hard to make Bermuda shorts look elevated, cool, even elegant. But the woman in the header image did it! I love how much polish the white blouse adds, and the ladylike sandal makes it feel dressy. For the final touch, add a statement purse in a fun animal print. Bermuda shorts have been fashion’s favorite short for the last few seasons, but I love the crisper chino version in the outfit. I love linen as much as the next gal, but there’s just a little more structure to the khaki. I love Quince’s khaki short, which has the perfect amount of stretch to maintain it’s shape and be comfortable! And with the price tag coming in under $40, you don’t have to feel guilty about it. Banana Republic has a drape-y twill pair that still elevates the feel of the silhouette. And finally, because sometimes you really do need the breathability of linen, DISSH’s pair in a natural color will do the trick.
Pair the ease of the shorts with a crisp white top with some shape in the sleeves to balance out the proportions. When I need a white top, my first stop is always COS – and this balloon sleeve blouse is exactly the thing we’re looking for. This slightly sheer, blouse-y Kenneth Cole top or this high drama Trina Turk shirt are both great options, too.
We talk a lot about leopard print, but there’s something about zebra that feels extra fresh right now. A cute little baguette purse in zebra will add It Factor to any lacking outfit, and it’s an easy way to get lot of look without spending a lot of money. I love this beaded Steve Madden one, Staud’s slightly sturdier beaded bag, or Reformation’s calf-hair version in a warmer tiger color way.
Just throw on your favorite pair of comfortable black sandals, like these block heeled Jeffrey Campbell shoes, and an oversized pair of black aviators. Boom! Outfit done.
