When I first heard that cowboy boots were coming back, I laughed. “Not me!” I thought. After all, I don’t live in Texas anymore. What use could I possibly have for cowboy boots? And then, slowly but surely, chic cowboy boots started creeping into my Instagram feed. Then it was featured edits on all my favorite e-commerce sites. And now, here I am, writing about the trend while wearing my very own pair. And really, what’s not to love? They’re comfortable, versatile, and can take a bit of a beating.
To be fair, this season’s silhouette is more Western-inspired than tried and true cowboy boot. Calvin Klein, Fendi, and Louis Vuitton are just a few of the big name designers who sent cowboy boots down the runway, with newer It Brands such as Ganni and Tibi coming in with their own interpretations. Boots range from heeled to flat, high-rise to ankle, and come in practically every color imaginable. And yes, it’s possible to still look polished and even editorial while you’re out on the town in cowboy boots.
We love them with a midi skirt and sweater, jeans and a t-shirt, or even a prairie-inspired dress. Check out some of the street style pics we’re using as inspiration for our own cowboy boot outfits before shopping our edit.
