My Pilates classes are booked up and the gym is packed. It’s resolution season! If you need any extra motivation, a new set of cute workout clothes feel a lot better to pull on in the morning than ratty leggings and mis-matched top. Shop our favorite pieces now – and get moving!
Let’s start with the basics: leggings. I finally tossed out my old pairs with too much stretch in the waist or tiny holes in the stitching. A couple new pairs of Zella’s live-in leggings have seriously spruced up my workout drawer. I never have to pull them up during workouts, and they come in tons of colors. In the header image I’m wearing the brand’s super high-waisted pair in navy. It’s just as flattering as the black, but a little bit softer and more unexpected.
Activewear is so much more than just leggings and sports bras these days. There are so many brands making pieces that work just as well when you’re lounging or running out to get a coffee. I’ve been eyeing this ribbed sweater quarter-zip from Anatomie, which I would throw on after pilates to get a little extra coverage. It also comes in a bright white, which would be great for anyone who’s taken off to warmer climates for the winter but still needs a layer in the morning or at night. A cute coat can make your whole outfit, especially in the winter, and I’ve been wearing my vanilla-colored (water repellent!) quilted jacket from Rhone a lot lately.
Don’t forget your feet! If your training shoes are beat up, now is the perfect time to snag a new pair. I still think Nike makes the best sneakers for actually working out in, like their pillowy Air Max 270s for long walks or their heavier-duty MC Trainer shoe for days when you’re lifting weights.
