It might seem like we’re still recovering from the holidays, but Valentine’s Day is lurking right around the corner. And look, I don’t like making a huge deal out of Valentine’s Day. It’s nice to exchange little gifts with my girlfriends, but when it comes to Bob? My preferred celebration is a nice date night. We put together an edit of our favorite date night outfit ideas from Bloomingdales, no matter what kind of night you’re planning.
Hearts are back, baby! Is wearing hearts a little on the nose for Valentine’s Day? Yes! Is it fun! Also yes! I love this Cinq a Sept denim blazer that I’m wearing in the header, and the scrunched sleeve version is embellished with stars along with hearts. Rock either blazer with a pair of wide-leg denim in a similar shade of indigo for a more casual take on a suit.
On a more casual note, go for something a cozy knit. It’s been cold! I love this All Saints black and white heart cardigan, which I would wear with black pants and a lot of gold necklaces. Aqua’s heart cardigan keeps the bling on your body with rhinestoned hearts, which are still kind of subtle against the black background. Go even more casual with a cute heart t-shirt, and dress it up with some cherry red trousers.
Not into the hearts? No worries! I love a high drama moment, like this black top with dramatic cuff sleeves. It feels like something Audrey Hepburn would’ve worn in one of her movies, but give it a modern spin with these flared black pants. This abstract floral shirt from rag & bone in an artsy black, red, and pink also keeps it romantic without being too literal. I love the slinky, sexy color palette.
