Sometimes, I just don’t want to put on jeans. Enter: the drawstring pant. It’s always comfortable, you’ll stay cool in hot weather, and the best part? You’ll still look put together. Shop our favorite easy, breezy drawstring pants below.
I started paying attention to this trend when I saw several women in LA (and on Instagram) posing in the same pair of pants from Donni. The cool, lowkey Los Angeles clothing line built their brand on the ease and effortlessness of their drawstring pant, in lots of colors and fabrics. This season, they did it in a chino! You can pick from white or beige, but you’ll look great in either pair.
Another thing I love about this trend? It doesn’t have to be expensive! The Mango linen pants I’m wearing in the header image come in under $50, and that’s not the only pair, either. I love this preppy blue-and-white cotton striped pair or this light-blue striped option, both from H&M under $30. For a more luxe look, these chocolate brown and paisley trouser feels like really expensive, chic pajamas.
The drawstring pant silhouette and linen are a match made in heaven. It’s easy and breezy, and a few wrinkles add to the look instead of ruining it. Of course Quince has a ton of great linen options, like these swingy cropped pants, which I really love in navy. An easy way to add some drama to your outfit is with a wide-leg linen pant, like these Zara palazzo trousers or these perfectly slouchy rag & bone khaki pants.
Or, if you’re feeling fancy, swap out the linen for something slinkier, like silk or satin. I love this white pair from Reformation or Quince’s washable silk pair.
