When you shop as much as we do, there are certain pieces that stick out. A double-breasted winter coat with buttons that feel like jewelry. A black boot with Western-y details that feel special. A chaser sweater with the perfect proportions. This November, these are the items we can’t resist adding to our closet. Throw in a few fun accessories like rhinestone shoes and statement earrings, and you’re ready for anything.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the editors are crazy for cashmere. Not just cashmere, but knits in general. This black buttoned silk knit shirt from Me + Em is the perfect way to dress up your usual uniform, although I’m planning on wearing it with a pleated leather skirt and high boots. Naadam’s split neck sweater is gorgeously cable-knit in an unusual way. Tibi’s convertible sweater gives you two sweaters thanks to its removable collar.
Texture report! This season we’re upping the fashion ante by buying classic pieces in tons of textures to create something truly special. It seems like everyone is crazy for shearling, and this shearling aviator jacket from Banana Republic is just as bananas as the name. It’s also the kind of piece that, like us, only gets better with age. These wide-leg leather pants from J.Crew will make any outfit feel instantly cooler. Frame Denim has been doing gorgeous work with leather lately, like this espresso-colored femme blazer. This Tory Burch croc belt in a pale green is the right kind of unusual.
Holiday party season is right around the corner, and I’m trying to add a little bit of holiday spirit into my everyday clothes too. These Mango bejeweled Mary Janes are a fun addition to my usual jeans and sweater combination, as are these mules with big bows and a cute kitten heel. I’m also eyeing chunky gold jewelry like this thick coil collar from Anine Bing.
