COS is hands down one of my favorite brands out there for elevated basics. It seems like every piece is well-made with nice fabrics, unlike so many other affordable big retailers. The clothes just look more expensive than they are! Looking ahead to winter, their edit looks better than ever. Think luxurious knits, layerable cotton tees, and structured tailoring separates that will keep you warm through the days ahead.
With full-blown cold winter breathing down our necks, maybe now is the time to snap up a winter coat at a pretty affordable price. This light beige wool coat feels like something you would wear traipsing through the English countryside, and a dark gray wool cape feels equally aspirational. The cape is also a great light layer if you’re in LA! I also love this creamy white quilted jacket which has the perfect amount of swing to stay stylish instead of frumpy.
One thing I love about COS is the variety of knit silhouettes they have in their collection that all exude the same level of elegance and effortlessness. Have you ever seen a black knit hoodie look this elevated? And when you pair it with the knit joggers, it feels more like tailoring than a common sweatsuit. The half-zip sweater in a rich charcoal grey also feels special thanks to the thick knit and ribbed detailing.
Texture is the easiest way to make your uniform dressing still feel special. A perfectly oversized white and navy striped sweater goes from ordinary to outfit maker when it’s done in a cozy mohair instead of the usual cotton. I am deeply obsessed with this textured gray cashmere hoodie, which feels more like a balaclava than streetwear. I’d love to wear it with my hair tucked in, a pair of fabulous earrings, and my favorite slouchy jeans.
