If you’ve been reading In The Groove for awhile, my love of Frank & Eileen should come as no surprise. The brand combines everything I love: effortlessness, classics with a twist, and a distinctly Californian sensibility – which makes it perfect for summer uniform dressing. The gotta-have-it piece is the Rory, which will look good on just about everyone. It’s minimal, it’s easy to style, and the high-quality linen is breathable enough to rock on even the hottest day of the summer. Lately I’ve been rocking it as a swim cover up, but I also love it over a pair of trousers with a cute sandal. It’s great in the soft blue which is a super pretty pale blue, or the white and blue stripe. The famous blue color is a rich indigo that almost reads like denim, and will definitely work as a transitional piece in the fall, too!
In fact, most of Frank & Eileen’s shirts are in my heavy rotation during summer. I love how lightweight they are, and I really do prefer wearing a button down instead of a tank top. I just don’t like having too much skin exposed to the sun! I love a super oversized shirt, which doesn’t feel suffocating, like the Mackenzie. Their one-size-fits-all shirt is made of 100% cotton for a superluxe feel and in a crisp white shade, it still manages to feel summery. Their Shirley shirt has more of a menswear fit, but with the same flattering tailoring the brand has become known for – so you won’t get swallowed up in it!
I’ve talked about how great I think their Wicklow pant is many times, but I’m not going to stop now. This broken-in chino is what All-American summer dreams are made of: backyard bbq, beachside campfires, even just eating al fresco. These are the ultimate summer pant that are super flattering, and make you feel polished enough to go just about anywhere. The Italian performance twill comes in tons of colors, but I’m loving this cheery lilac color or the classic vintage navy.
