How To Get French Summer Style For Yourself

Oh la la four pieces that will make you feel super chic.

How To Get French Summer Style For Yourself

French women always look so effortlessly chic, even in the scorching heat, which is why we’re getting a little French summer style for ourself. Take this classic outfit, for example. It’s polished but casual, and totally wearable. I don’t know what I love the most: the white pants, the perfect length of the sleeves on the bateau shirt, or the comfy but cute ballet flats. When it comes to beating the heat but still looking chic, this is as good as it gets.

Here’s the outfit breakdown. White pants + striped bateau shirt + ballet flats + sunglasses. That’s it! It’s easy.

WHITE PANTS

Start with an easy, breezy pair of white pants. If it’s still super hot where you live, go for a more breathable fabric like these Theory pants. If you’re looking towards fall, don’t be afraid to go for denim, like this cropped Frame pair. Or these wide-leg cropped Banana Republic jeans.

STRIPED SHIRT
There’s nothing more French than a three-quarter length bateau shirt. If you’re looking to stick to the original, then you can’t go wrong with J.Crew’s version or Kule’s slightly updated t-shirt.  I love CDG’s Play shirt because it’s a fresh new take on a classic. If a scoop neck is more flattering for you, then I love this La Ligne henley.

BALLET FLATS

A pointed toe takes this outfit to the next level, with a super-modern update to the usual Chanel flat. These Bottega Veneta flats and these AEYDE flats absolutely nail the current moment in fashion. Marc Fisher LTD’s shoe marries an avant-garde point with the traditional flat. And If you feel like you need just a little bit of a heel, this Mansur Gavriel slingback gives you just enough of a lift.

SUNGLASSES

Top it all off with a pair of chic shades. Go for a round pair, which is classically French, or give it an American update with an aviator silhouette.
