We are so close to September, but it’s not quite there yet. It doesn’t matter how many times I flip through my September Issues and look at pictures of amazing trench coats, I just can’t jump into fall fashion yet. These are the three transitional looks that I can count on right now, and I still feel and look really good, if I say so myself.
Outfit #1: Jeans and T-shirt,
There’s nothing better than jeans and a t-shirt, but sometimes I need to switch it up a little bit. Adding a little something extra to zhujh up my uniform always puts me in a good mood. Right now, I’m wearing a lot of kimonos. You can wear them with everything, but I’m loving it with jeans and t-shirts because the kimono can really shine.
I love this blue printed one, and this sheer navy guy with a handkerchief hem.
Outfit #2: Monochromatic Sweats
I still love my sweats. I try to get dressed every morning for productivity, but sometimes there’s just nothing better than sweatpants. My compromise? Dressing my sweats up in a sophisticated cream shade. If white feels too risky, then a black sweatshirt with silver zippers on the sleeve brings just enough fashion to still feel fun. Add matching joggers, a pair of sneakers from an exclusive New Balance collab, and you have a full outfit.
Outfit#3: Transitional Dress
I’ve been loving dresses lately, because it’s an entire outfit in one piece. All I need to do is throw on a pair of shoes, and bam! Maximum style with minimum effort. The silhouette we’re looking for is something big but still structured, so it’s still comfortable. I want something breezy, like this chambray guy from J.Crew. I’d wear this navy, puff-sleeved dress in the fall with heeled booties and a great coat. this dress’s pretty marigold yellow color is summery enough for right now, and still works in autumn. Add some sandals, either sporty or slip-on leather.
