We’ve officially entered the dog days of summer! While I’m soaking up every last minute of sunshine, I’m also looking ahead to fall and my transitional wardrobe. That’s why I love this outfit so much! The all-white look is totally wearable now for hot days, but all you have to do is sling on a black biker leather jacket for some edge and voila – you’re reading for a pumpkin spice latte!
Let’s start with the monochromatic basics. First, you need a white t-shirt. Chances are you already have a favorite lying around, but I love getting fresh tees this time of year. It’s kind of like back to school shopping. Everlane’s oversized pocket tee, Madewell’s garment-dyed tee, and J.Crew’s slim-cut pocket tee are all great options.
You’re going to need a pair of white pants. Personally, I’ve always loved Nili Lotan’s Eliot boy pant – but I know it’s a little pricey. Madewell’s wide-leg Harlow jean and Everlane’s barrel utility pant both give you enough structure. On the skinnier side of things, Banana Republic’s slim jean are a perfect example of how skinny jeans can still feel fresh.
Now onto my favorite part: the leather jacket. I’m a firm believer that a black leather motorcycle jacket is an essential for every woman’s wardrobe, at every age. I love wearing mine to add contrast to an otherwise simple look, just like this all-white one! Madewell’s washed leather jacket has a slightly oversized feel to it, so you can also wear it over sweater when it gets colder. Of course, there’s a slimmer fit too. This Lauren Ralph Lauren one is a more streamlined version with cleaner, more minimalist lines.
Round out the rest of your outfit with a trusty pair of black high-ankle sneakers for a retro feel, like these Keds , these Converse, or these Golden Goose sneakers if you feel like splurging. Don’t forget a purse! I love a big leather-y pouf for some fun texture, like this one from Quince that reminds me of Bottega Veneta.
