Maybe sneakers aren’t the first thing you think of when you think of a movie star, especially a French one. But Isabelle Huppert is not your average movie star. The Oscar-nominated actress, known for her unique style on and off-screen, gives us a perfect transitional look with her jeans, blazer, and Converse combination.
Start with your denim. It’s all about the fit you feel your best in. I’ve been loving AYR’s jeans lately, and this Bomb Pop cut is a slightly flared crop that’s perfect for transitional weather. These Citizens jeans give you the crop but don’t have the flare. And of course, J.Crew has a perfect vintage-inspired pair in a classic medium wash.
Throw on a long-sleeve t-shirt in a super soft fabric, like this one from Raey. Or mix it up with a French-y striped option like this from J.Crew. Throw on a perfectly tailored black blazer, which is the kind of piece you can wear forever. I love the nipped-in waist and 70’s inspired wide lapels of this one at Matches, but if you want a more classic option COS’s boyfriend-inspired blazer is perfect.
And of course, the unexpected kick: the sneakers. You don’t have to go Converse, but I love their white low-tops. Feel free to switch it out for a classic pair of Stan Smiths.
Style is all about the details, so finish off your look with a rockstar chic, leather and silver bracelet. If you want to invest in an Hermes cuff, go for it! But this black leather and gold clasp bracelet also does the trick at a fraction of the price. Finally, a scarf for just the right amount of effortless chic. Leopard is a neutral, so layer up with a leopard scarf. In another flavor of animal print, I love this graphic, zebra-and-houndstooth scarf.
