Ines de la Fressange is one of our forever style icons. If you don’t know who she is, Ines is a model, fashion designer, and perfumer. She was the first model to sign an exclusive contract with Chanel, was named to the International Best Dressed Hall of Fame in 1998, and most recently designed a line of clothing for Uniqlo.
She is a prime example of how aging can and should emphasize personal style, not diminish it. Her effortlessly elegant and chic ensembles are constant inspiration for us, and this one is particularly great. We love this perfect transitional look: white jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt or sweater, a classic navy blazer, and fun shoes.
First start with classic but updated basics. That means a pair of cream or white jeans that are structured but slouchy. We love this pair from COS, our new favorite brand. Everlane has a slightly skinnier pair, if you’re not into the oversized vibe. Throw on a white t-shirt for monochromatic outfit heaven, either in a long-sleeve sweater right now or a t-shirt during warmer weather. For contrast, add a perfectly tailored navy blazer. As always, J.Crew has a regent blazer that gets the job done. Everlane’s Italian blazer is a little bit sharper, nipping in at the waist.
The star of this outfit, for us, is a really great pair of stacked loafer heels. Fashionable but comfortable, masculine but feminine, they’re the perfect versatile shoe that you can dress up or down with anything. If you want something very close to Ines’s, then you can’t go wrong with a Roger Vivier buckled pair. These Prada moccasin creeper heels are trendy and super comfortable, thanks to the lug sole platform heel.
