During the summer, it can feel hard to be inspired when it comes to getting dressed. Which is why when I came across the perfect late-summer look, I needed to get the look for myself. The pieces are familiar enough – a long swishy skirt, a blouse with some feminine details, comfortable sandals – but it feels fresh. It’s a perfect walking around outfit, a perfect vacation outfit, and even a perfect dinner party outfit. Get the look for yourself below.
The skirt is the anchor of the outfit. Swishy and comfortable, but still elegant and pretty. You can go more casual with a J.Crew linen wrap skirt, a Boden jersey skirt, or a tiered cotton skirt from Sea. For a little special something, Brochu Walker’s Havana skirt comes with buttons, too!
You can never have too many white blouses, but admittedly I don’t have that many short sleeve, drape-y ones. J.Crew’s linen shirt is the ideal. Mille’s Freya top is supremely elegant, with it’s v-neckline and dramatic sleeves. Don’t be afraid of texture! Lean in closely and this white blouse from Vince Camuto has a subtle zebra pattern. Frame’s puff-sleeve eyelet blouse lends structure for an edgier feel.
These are walk-anywhere, do-anything in them sandals so I tend to go for minimalist ones with clean lines to keep it chic, like these Vince crossover leather sandals or these Kenneth Coles (with arch support!!). To keep it trendy, go for a puffy braided pair like these Banana Republic shoes or these Madewell fisherman sandals.
Make a strong statement with a single bold, gold arm cuff. Jennifer Fisher’s Tube bracelet will never go out of style, and you can wear it with everything. Laura Lombardi’s Cable bracelet is another option if you’re more of a chain girl.
You are a lady with places to go and people to see, even if it’s summer. Go for a sleek black bag with retro vibes. A Saint Laurent bag will never go out of style, but this Mansur Gavriel bag is a nice update.
